We started the year understanding that our first priority
must be seeking God in all that we do. Thus, we kicked CHAOS out of our lives
by accepting vulnerability, accepting responsibility, accepting capability and accepting accountability.
Then we learned that we can actually, literally act and be
like Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit.
And with God's Spirit dwelling in us we now have the capacity to
experience love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, kindness,
faithfulness, and self-control as God intended.
Our next lesson told us to Keep Calm and Carry On seeking the Lord and
following His plan despite what life is throwing at us.
And finally, after
all of that, we now kick off our Fall
bible study He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear From God by Priscilla Shirer. This study will challenge us to seek God with
the intention of hearing God. Yes, the
intention. So before we even begin, ask
yourself: What is my motivation for seeking God? Too much of our lives is spent
mindlessly on auto-pilot. I pray that you are propelled into this study for no
other reason than because the desire of your soul is an intimate, personal, passionate
relationship with God.
I can't even tell you how excited I am to hear your
testimonies of how God starts speaking and revealing Himself to you directly over the
next few weeks. I hope you are as
excited as I am. Know that my prayers (and
hopefully my blog notes) are with you as you choose to follow Jesus Christ.
